1998 FA Cup Final Arsenal v Newcastle
History is re-written once again, as the Gunners become only the second team in English football history to win a second double in Arsene Wenger's first full season in charge at Highbury.

Arsenal had twice lost FA Cup Finals to Newcastle, either side of the war in 1932 and 1952, but faced them on this occasion as overwhelming favourites to add the Cup to their recently claimed Premiership crown.

It had been a season of two halves for the Gunners, with any hope of any silverware looking remarkably slim at the turn of the year. Lying in sixth, the table wasn't making happy reading and a third round goalless draw at home to Port Vale only served to deepen the gloom. But a remarkable turnaround in form saw a 12 point deficit overcome and a Cup Final place was eventually booked after defeating Wolves at Villa Park.

The match started brightly, and the breakthrough came after only 23 minutes, when Petit, who would end the summer as a World Cup Winner, provided the pass for Overmars to shoot past Given, and there was only going to be one winner.

Newcastle hit the woodwork twice in the second half, but Arsenal wrapped it up in the 70th minute, when Anelka latched onto Parlour's long ball to fire past Given to seal a remarkable season for the Gunners. So now relive this day all over again when double was completed for an incredible second time.
